Dream diary update. It was too cold in my man-cave for the cats, so I went upstairs to the couch to keep them company.I dreamed about an epic struggle. My side had 4 elemental deities and myself as sorcerer-leader. Theirs had armies of cavalry, archers, and catapults as well as a fortress wall. The fire deity was in the form of a beautiful nude woman made of flame, about 14 feet tall.
Being able to fly I had several tête-à-tête with my elemental avatar friends. I don't think they had effective short-range counters for us and I was able to hold off their long-range attacks. I awoke briefly to find both cats curled up with me on the couch and mom reading in the recliner next to us. Later on I dreamed about being happily married but not being able to wake myself up once I became a widower late in life. I remember a lot of oak leaves blowing around at her funeral.
After burying my woman in September I eventually roused myself enough to awaken. I had that hypoxia headache from depressed respiration for a few minutes while I roused myself and the cats got up with me.

Surreal street-fighting, Godhead, lost cat hitchhiking dreams
Dream diary update. I woke up from a nightmare about 25 minutes ago after sleeping in from the snowstorm all day. The nightmare wasn't terribly complicated and its more than made up for by my dreams yesterday. Even though I slept all day today I should have done it yesterday. Virtually all me dreams for 3 days before yesterday were either surreal or about street fighting.Yesterday was the good day and I dreamed about being a God-avatar stewarding a dream civilization of elves-Mayans. Only I slept poorly yesterday. Today I slept deeply all day with c-span on the TV. Unfortunately I just ended up dreaming about being lost hitchhiking and losing my Fluffy cat while idle people chattered about other peoples' health care insurance. Coincidentally yesterday she was quite happily sleeping with me and going outside a lot. Today Fluffy didn't stay on top of me while I dreamed and she waited out the storm in the dark stairwell to my man-cave. Probably it was just me thrashing in my sleep that drove her off. Nevertheless I am tempted to infer a causal instead of a correlative relationship between having Fluffy sleep with me and dreams of Godhead

Beckett, Monday night football, Victorian mansion, murder mystery dreams
Dream diary update. My 2 dreams Monday night were a cross between a Samuel Beckett play and Monday night football.
I dreamed last night about fighting alone with 2 other characters in the dark all night. One dream felt like just a continuation of the other one. Since I'm a Beckett fan and my favorite works of his are Krapp's Last Tape and Waiting for Godot, I felt the connection but I was so saddened by all the fighting in my dreams I didn't write about it until now. In both dreams minutes felt like hours. I've experienced this acute telescoping time feeling before, but not in my waking life for many years now.
A half hour ago I had a dream about servants in a great Victorian mansion. In my dream there was a double murder mystery that I solved. When I awoke Downtown Abbey was playing on Masterpiece Classics since I had left the TV on PBS/KETC. I realized immediately that I had incorporated most of the dialogues for background noises in my dream as I investigated servant's corridors and kitchen from my dream mansion. I believe the victims were the dream characters I had fought to a draw Monday night.

Sliders, Zombie aflockalypse dream
I just had a dream that was like the old TV series "Sliders."
I used to have Sliders-type dreams all the time before Fox drove off the creator Tracy Tormé. The first two seasons of the show were hit-and-miss about a team of quantum reality travelers who were trapped in a series of alternate Earths and continually catching wormholes to keep traveling through the series. After Tormé left from creative differences I didn't like the show even though I'm sure it was good sci-fi action. Fox network didn't like the social commentary and Sci-Fi channel didn't care for the intellectual satire dialogues that I liked. Starting a trend TV executives turned star Jerry O'Connell from a humble scientist character like a Robert Heinlein hero into a sex item and weak action hero like the current sexy vampire craze. Nevertheless I still have dreams about the thing as a recurring motif even though I quit watching in the middle of season 3.
Anyway the dream I had was about sliding into a parallel world with my companions and fighting a robot zombie aflockalypse. Apparently the varied robots were carriers of a zombie virus that was as bad as that seen in the Resident Evil series.
The flock of contagious robots sought to overrun a roadside cafe that we slid into at the end of the world. As usual I was the only one who could fight decently even though some other old-timers and terrified athletes were holding their own. They had to use advanced weapons while I took the zombies and infectious robots mostly with my rusty H2H. We went outside in the night to take the fight to the enemies. They almost had us with a proliferating wave of collie-sized robots with slapping infectious tentacles when I awoke.
